listening to bodylife
generating alive networks
lighting up living connections

ASTER association inc is a Melbourne-based not-for-profit organization. We cultivate the growing fields of somatics and embodiment through education, research, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary conversations. We craft connections, bridge communities, and grow ecosystems that extend the positive impacts of body-oriented practices. We foster social change in individual and collective life through the art and craft of conscious embodiment.

“Healthy structure is never static but grows in community. It expands, recalibrates, and rests. It connects parts of a whole, for the benefit of the system and the health of the parts.”
~ ASTER association

Here at ASTER we…

  • Craft Connections.

Providing scaffolds that adapt and respond to community needs. Growing bodylife systems that connect practitioners, community leaders, educators, artists and researchers with one another and with sources of support.

  • Bridge Communities.

Public outreach through podcast, print and in-person to share research, practice, skills and questions. Celebrating cellular communication and embodied intelligence through resonant and networked communities.

  • Grow Ecosystems.

Trusting the creative and self-organising wisdom of ecosystems with respect and wonder. Recognising individual experience and the complexity of the whole to light up the interdependence of all living things.

Aster Conversation Series

A series of conversations exploring the art & craft of embodiment.

Tapping the zeitgeist, we ask - where is conversation needed to support the growth and formation of resonant community?

Human beings, like cells, connect and communicate to develop complexity. Together we create intelligent systems and creative networks.

As a not-for-profit organisation, the funds we raise through our events go toward paying our speakers and supporting future ASTER institute gatherings and forums.

Join the ASTER crew for a conversation delving into the relationships between imagination and somatic practices
